Twenty-three student athletes will graduate on Saturday

Among the graduates at commencement exercises for McNeese State on Saturday will be 23 student athletes. This will give the Cowboys and Cowgirls a total of 30 graduates during the 2007-08 school year as seven of them graduated last December and then completed their athletic eligibility this spring.

The Stephen F. Austin athletics department graduated 31 athletes and student trainers during Spring Commencement Saturday, May 10. Among the 31, eight athletes graduated with honors, including four who graduate cum laude, two, which graduated magna cum laude, and two earned summa cum laude distinction.

Football Holds Iron Terp Olympics

The University of Maryland football team capped off its spring conditioning program Tuesday with the annual Iron Terp Olympics which was held at Chevy Chase Bank Field at Byrd Stadium and the practice fields. Approximately 10 to 11 players were placed on 10 different teams. The players competed in lifting exercises as well as a tire flip, tug of war and a game of ultimate football. The team ended the day with a cookout at the Gossett Team House.
