Boyer and Barro Earn Senior Athlete of the Year Honors

Senior women's soccer player Laura Boyer and men's basketball player Ousmane Barro were named the 2008 Ralph H. Metcalfe Senior Outstanding Athletes Friday evening at the Senior Athletics Awards banquet held at Marquette's Alumni Memorial Union.

Twenty-three student athletes will graduate on Saturday

Among the graduates at commencement exercises for McNeese State on Saturday will be 23 student athletes. This will give the Cowboys and Cowgirls a total of 30 graduates during the 2007-08 school year as seven of them graduated last December and then completed their athletic eligibility this spring.

Gina DiMartino Named To US Women's Under-20 Training Roster

Boston College women's soccer player Gina DiMartino was named to the roster of the US Women's Under-20 National Team for two weeks of training camp in Clemson, S.C. DiMartino will be with the team from May 12-27 to prepare for the CONCACAF Qualifying in June.

The U.S. Under-20 Women's Soccer National Team will be in Clemson from May 12-27 for a two-week training camp. The national team, coached by Tony DiCicco, will play three scrimmages during the two-week period, two at Riggs Field and one on the Clemson soccer practice fields, all of which are free and open to the public.

Former Spartan Erin Konheim Named Assistant Coach At Loyola College

Erin Konheim, who played on two NCAA Championship-qualifying teams at Michigan State, has been hired as an assistant women's soccer coach at Loyola College in Baltimore, Md. Konheim is joining the staff of the Greyhounds' new head coach, Katherine Vettori.

The Missouri Valley Conference announced its academic awards for the 2007-08 year and Illinois State received more than its fair share of accolades. ISU had 157 student-athletes named to the MVC Honor Roll, including three who received the President's Council Academic Award and 59 who received the Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award.
