Members of Basketball Team Make Calls

RUSTON -- Louisiana Tech head coach Kerry Rupp has preached giving back since he arrived last season.

That virtue certainly showed Monday night as his Bulldogs made the effort to thank donors and benefactors for supporting the men's basketball program.

"From all of us in men's basketball, our student-athletes, coaches and staff, we want to say "thank you" for your donations and support to our program this past year," Rupp said. "These two words were the guiding principles for the Louisiana Tech's men's basketball team who participated in the Thank-A-Thon this past Monday night."

Most members of the Bulldog team used their personal cell phones to make the calls, and Rupp said he appreciated his team's willingness to participate.

"We realize that we can't do it alone and that we need everyone's support; support that is vital to success both in the classroom and in competition," Rupp said. "Therefore, we want to express our gratitude to the people in the Tech Family and community who gave donations and their support to our program this past year. You are vital to all that we wish to accomplish here at Louisiana Tech."

Rupp added that if somebody gave a donation but did not receive a call Monday night, they should contact Renee in men's basketball at (318) 257-411 to ensure the correct contact information is on file.
