The Northeastern Junior College Athletic Department and the Plainsmen Men's Basketball Team announced the commitment of Brush High school standout Jared Spooner. Spooner joins a Plainsmen team that went 30-4 on the season and a top 10 national ranking. Jared averaged 19 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks per game and leaves a Brush team that went 10-13 on the year.

Northeastern Junior College Head Men's Basketball Coach Eddie Trenkle is very excited about the future for Jerrod. "Jared can be a very good player for us. With some added strength and collegiate experience he has a great deal of potential. We look forward to Jared Red-Shirting his freshman year to allow him to gain that experience and strength to help him adjust to the speed and physical play at our level. He could really become an asset for us down the road." The Plainsmen continue to make additions with the goal of winning a NJCAA National Championship.
