Former Runnin' Rebel Joel Anthony will be back in the Thomas & Mack Center on Friday playing for Team Canada against USA Basketball.

LAS VEGAS - Former Runnin' Rebel center Joel Anthony will find himself in a very familier place on Friday, July 25 at 5:00 p.m. as he will suit up for Team Canada against USA Basketball in the 2008 State Farm USA Basketball Challenge at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Friday's exhibition game will be televised live on ESPN. The game will be Team USA's only contest on American soil before heading to China for additional exhibition games before the Olympic Games begin. The other four USA Basketball exhibition games in China will all be televised on ESPN2. For a complete schedule, CLICK HERE.

Anthony played at UNLV as a junior during the 2004-05 season, redshirted in 2005-06 and was the Mountain West Conference's Defensive Player of the Year as UNLV made a trip to the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 and turned in a 30-7 overall record in 2006-07. He is second on the all-time UNLV career blocked shot list with 157 and his 109 blocks during his senior season also ranks second all-time for most blocks in a season by a UNLV player.

A member of the NBA's Miami Heat, Anthony played in 24 games last season as a rookie.
