Peter VanderDrift, along with fellow class of 2008 member Dan Wernau, saw their name to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for the fourth consecutive year.
July 3, 2008
EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's lacrosse team placed 18 student-athletes onto the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, the league announced Thursday morning.
Pacing the group was rising junior Jason Montoya, who recorded a perfect 4.0 grade-point average (GPA) for the spring semester. Montoya, a Mechanical Engineering major, made three appearances for the Leopards this past spring, racking up five saves in just over 32 minutes of work.
Two members of the class of 2008 found their way onto the list, as Peter VanderDrift and Dan Wernau both received Academic Honor Roll status for their fourth consecutive year at Lafayette. VanderDrift graduated with a degree in Mathematics and Economics in May, while Wernau was walked away from Lafayette with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 GPA in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter in one of the Patriot League's 16 winter or spring championship sports. The criteria for awarding varsity letters are different at each institution.
